90 Days Return Policy

Returns and Exchanges:

How do I return my order (AUS and USA)

For AUS/USA returns:

  1. Use the above link.
    Please note: You will need your Order Number and Post Code/Zip Code to enter the Portal.
  2. If you are exchanging, you will receive an email with a link to pay for the new shipping of the exchange item (returning shipping is free).
  3. Then you will receive an email with a return shipping label. Print your return label and attach it to the parcel. Alternatively, if you provide the electronic label to Aus Post, they will print the label for you (for Australian returns).
  4. Drop the parcel into a red AusPost or USPS box.
  5. When the return arrives back to our warehouse, you will be refunded to your account, or the new item will be posted out to you via regular shipping.

Need your new item sooner?

Best to simply process a RETURN only for a refund, and go ahead and purchase the new item you need on a new order. This means we won't be waiting for the return of your unwanted item before shipping out the new one.

How do I return my order if I am outside AUS/USA?

For international returns:


Please post the unwanted item/s to our warehouse at 9 Orchard Road, Brookvale, 2100, NSW, Australia via post.

Include in the package a note with :

  • Your order number
  • Your shipping address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • What you would like to do (i.e refund or exchange for another size).
  • The item and size you would like to exchange for (if applicable)

Once received, our team will process the return/exchange here and send out the new item/s to you if required :)

Keep your tracking number handy just in case!

What is your returns policy?

When our flock is happy, we’re happy. We want you to feel free as a bird when Smuggling.

If for any reason you aren’t feeling 100% satisfied with your Smugglers, you may return the item(s) you’ve purchased for a full refund. For all exchange orders you will have to pay to have the new exchange parcel shipped out to you ($9 for AUS customers).


Our policy is we accept returns for orders dispatched less than 90days ago. If you need help with an order outside of this time frame, reach out to our team here for assistance.

Please note, any items marked FINAL SALE or any Custom / Made to Order / Pre Order pairs are not able to be returned, exchanged or receive store credit unless deemed faulty. 

The item(s) must be unworn, in its original packaging with swing tag attached and not damaged in any way.

We cannot exchange/refund items that have been worn or damaged.

For womens pieces, the hygiene label must still be on.

I received a gift. How can I exchange for something else?

No worries at all! Sometimes your mates don't know your size (or your style), so we're here to help if you want to exchange.

Include in the package a note with :

  • Your shipping address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • What you would like to do (i.e exchange for another size or style/print).
  • The item and size you would like to exchange for.

How long do I have to return my order?

Within 90 days of receiving them. Although if you've bought them for a gift, we won't be complete tight arses... Just let us know the situation and they should be okay to exchange outside of this period.

What is the difference between an INSTANT REFUND and REFUND TO PAYMENT METHOD?

An instant refund generates your refund immediately via a third party (Refundid).

Please note you will see a pending charge appear in your bank account as a security deposit, in case you don’t send the other pair back!

You will also be asked to supply some identification for credit security reasons.


Selecting refund to payment method as your chosen resolution, your money will be refunded into your bank account once the item/s arrives back at our warehouse.



Who pays for the return/exchange?

We pay for the return shipping for AUS/US customers :)


If you are exchanging for a new item, you will be emailed a link to pay for the exchange shipping (unless your item is faulty/incorrect).

What if I received the wrong item / a faulty item?

Head over to our returns portal to state that you received an incorrect item and exchange the item you intended to receive for the same item - you will need to select 'Exchange for another size'.


You will not have to pay for the shipping!

Domestic Orders:

When will my domestic order be sent?

All online store domestic orders (orders within Australia) will be shipped out within one (1) working day via Australia Post.

Custom/DIY Builder orders take 3-4 weeks to be made.

Made to Order or Pre Order pairs take around 3-4 weeks however this is dependent on the product, please check the product description.

Express Shipping (2-4 Business days)
  • $12 (tracked)
  • 1-2 Business Days
  • Western Australia: 2-3 Business days
Same Day Shipping (Sydney)
  • $15
  • Same-day delivery (ordered before 1pm), or next business day if ordered on a weekend/public holiday.
  • Selected Sydney postcodes only.
  • Residential addresses only (no business addresses). Must be home between 6-9:30pm.
  • Weekends and Public Holidays deliveries are not available.

International Orders:

When will my international order be sent?

All online store international orders (orders outside of Australia) will be shipped out within one (1) working day.

Custom/DIY Builder orders take 3-4 weeks to be made at our factory before they are shipped.

Made to Order or Pre Order pairs take around 3-4 weeks to be made at our factory, however this is dependent on the product, please check the product description.

Standard Shipping (7-10 business days depending on location)

Standard International Courier: Please allow 7-10 business days for your parcel to arrive.

Charges range between $10-30 AUD, pending location. Details below. (A tracking code will be provided courtesy of DHL or SEKO). 

Please refer to your email shipping confirmation email to track your delivery.

*Please note some orders may have a secondary tracking number. This is a third party courier which DHL have passed your order onto.*

Express Shipping (3-5 business days depending on location)

Express International Courier: Please allow 3-5 business days for your parcel to arrive.

Express DHL Courier International Delivery: Ranges between $25 - 40 AUD, depending location. Details below. (A tracking code will be provided courtesy of DHL).  

New Zealand: (1-3 business days for metro areas) $10 -$25 AUD - Free shipping after $100 AUD

China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong: $30 - Free Shipping after $200 AUD

USA, Canada: $10 - $30 USD - Free shipping after $100 USD

South Africa: $50 AUD - Free shipping after $200 AUD

Postage Customs and Customs Charges

When ordering from Budgy Smuggler's website, or through direct contact via email, phone or social media pages like Facebook or Instagram, from overseas you may be subject to import duties or taxes levied once the package reaches the specified destination. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you as we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, please note that when ordering from Budgy Smuggler website, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which the products are received. We would like our international customers and customers dispatching products internationally to be aware that cross border deliveries are subject to opening and inspections by customs authorities.

Any deliveries outside Australia are subject to the postal and customs laws of those countries. Budgy Smuggler cannot guarantee delivery, regular air mail within 14 days, or express delivery within 7 days outside Australia, however the vast majority of Budgy Smugglers' previous orders to countries outside of Australia have arrived within 10 days.
